Among the film versions of the seven novels and novellas which are discussed in this article is the Egyptian film "Risālah min imraʾah majhūlah" [Letter from an Unknown Woman] [1962], directed by Ṣalāḥ Abū Sayf, script by Fatḥī Zakī and Wafīyah Khayrī, starring Farīd al-Aṭrash, Lubnā ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, Amīnah Rizq, and Mārī Munīb. The film is an adaptation of Stefan Zweig's novella "Brief einer Unbekannten"
