This is a letter from the Chilean poetess [and Nobel prize winner for literature in 1945] and the directress of the Chilean consulate in Rio de Janeiro to Eduardo Mallea, the editor of the literary supplement of the daily newspaper La Nación in Buenos Aires. Mistral's letter was printed in La Nación on 3 March 1942
